“It’s never too late to become the person you could be.”
I feel asleep last night to wolf pack lullabies. I have loved the sounds they make since hearing them in our early trips. Each time I get serenaded, I feel like the luckiest person on the planet.
I awoke with a renewed sense of hope this morning. Nothing went bump in the night & I slept fairly well which always lifts my spirits.
Thankfully, my shoddy bear hang stayed intact. I was extremely grateful the flimsy brach I had managed to snag was still holding on. It is the daily task I dread the most. A perfect bear hanging branch is virtually non-existent. I am reaching a point I must accept that I do my best & that it will have to do. There is no place for perfectionism at the end of a long trail day.
The trees that had felt so closed in before, now felt like a comforting blanket of protection. They wrap around me like a warm quilt sheltering me from the sun & wind.
The terrain was much more foot friendly giving my aching feet & knees a much needed reprieve from all the brutal twisting they had endured on the first 2 days.
