“Every time I think about quitting, something truly beautiful and amazing happens.”
These past 2 days just might be the death of me. Stunning & rugged, the constant uphill scrambles & steep downhill descents have taken a toll on me. I am more sore these past 2 days than I have been at any other time during this trip. When I move just so, I get a very sharp shooting pain behind my knee which is slowing my pace significantly as I need to be more careful in my movements.
In spite of the physical discomfort, it is yet another truly stunning day. The fall colors are really vibrant giving me rainbows of fall colors which I stand staring at from the top of Mount Trudee. The falls at Tettegouche State Park were another eye popping wow moment. With all the rain we have had, the waterfalls & rivers are extremely awe inspiring.
My slow pace & tired body became obvious at the end of my day. For the first time in 18 days, I fell short of my destination. I will start tomorrow 1.5 miles behind where I am supposed to be.
